The Swimming Granny
I love listening to the sound of an unknown tongue, its soft, lilting and flows with the music. It reminds me of a night train from Helsinki to arctic Finnmark. I've no idea if I will get the chance to meet Maria a Heygum do but she is one person Il'l be seeking out and maybe having a swim with.... if I'm very lucky.

Food, Fishing and the Faroes
Before leaving my 60th birthday camping ground, alone after the busy week of multiple guests, I was feeling very slow and something about my walk across the camp ground took me back to the Outer Hebrides and I felt very connected. It was as though I was still wandering on the journey I took in 2000, after being on Taransay. I felt at peace and remembered the empty days of travel, the time that drifts and the days that merge and I knew I was ready to travel again. driving home, this came on the radio. Long after I had parked back in Norwich, I sat in my car and listened.
